Ownership:
  - United Development Company (100%)
Incorporation date: 2007
Sector: Marine Industry

Ronautica Middle East has become a trusted name in marina management and nautical services. After its incorporation in 2007, the Company quickly established itself as a regional authority in the marine industry, spearheading the region’s luxury boating business.

Ronautica Middle East boasts a team of seasoned marina specialists and is charged with the creation and management of The Pearl-Qatar’s three world-class marinas. They include the marina at Porto Arabia which can moor 782 vessels and is able to accommodate yachts of up to 100 meters long. More importantly, the marina provides access to an innovative vacuum sewage system set at every mega yacht’s berth. These world-class marina facilities allowed The Pearl-Qatar to win CNBC’s International Award for Marina Development in 2007.

Plans for the Porto Arabia marina comprise a state-of-the-art system of on-dock fueling for the Island’s mega yachts and a fueling berth located at the marina’s entrance.

In addition to developing the Island’s marina infrastructure, Ronautica Middle East provides The Pearl-Qatar with a full range of premier services. These services cover hassle-free entrance to the marina, yacht sales, maintenance, service a range of nautical activities.  Ronautica Middle East is Qatar’s exclusive distributor of many top-name brands, including Bayliner, Meriden, Zodiac and Sunreef Yachts.

Many super yachts with ranges over 50 meters are permanently berthed at The Pearl-Qatar. The marinas also regularly welcome visiting super yachts that are larger in size.

In 2013, Ronautica Middle East underwent a series of changes in structure and personnel to position the Company for growth in revenue and profit. Several unprofitable lines of business were exited, including large yacht charter, yacht sales, yacht repair and many of the nautical activities that were previously offered. Some support staff roles were eliminated and operations staff repositioned to concentrate on a core marina management function.

Earlier this year, Ronautica Middle East has announced the opening of a major new section of Porto Arabia Marina at The Pearl-Qatar to cope with their increased demand for berths and to provide a greater variety of service to new customers. The newly opened 159-berth marina section, called ‘Marina C’ is as large or larger than most of the other marinas of Doha. It is situated in front of many quality retail and restaurant outlets in the Porto Arabia district of The Pearl-Qatar. Porto Arabia Marina has over 782 berths in total and the marina is opening up sections as yachts fill up the berths. Four sections with 411 berths were opened previously and only one section, containing 212 berths, is yet to be opened.

The recent opening of the Costa Malaz marina has also witnessed a keen interest from local yacht owners, with a total of 117 berths for yachts from just under 10m up to 15m newly available. All the berths are fully serviced with water and shore power supplies. This newly presented marina benefits from all the same high quality infrastructure as the existing Porto Arabia Marina with 24 hour security, a private fuel pontoon for berth holders, ample parking space, experienced dock hands to assist in mooring and wide, solid and safe pontoons.

In 2014, Ronautica Middle East will continue to focus on streamlining operations with a move to smaller, better-located offices. The company also plans to launch an exciting new yacht club format and to open and operate two major fuel piers to better satisfy current berth holders and to aid in attracting new clients.

  •  Marina Gate 2;
  •  Water Taxi 6;
  •  Water Taxi 11;
