United Development Company Announces the Launch of Real-Time Continuous Seawater Monitoring Stations around Gewan Island

Doha, Qatar – February 24, 2025 – United Development Company (UDC), proudly announces the commissioning of real-time continuous seawater monitoring stations around Gewan Island. The launch took place in the presence of delegates from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC).

This initiative aligns with UDC’s strategic environmental objectives, ensuring compliance with marine ecosystem regulations and enabling data-driven decision-making. The stations will continuously monitor water quality parameters such as temperature, pH levels, dissolved oxygen, turbidity (water clarity), salinity, and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), providing vital data to support marine conservation efforts with plan to collaborate more parameters in future strengthening the monitoring regime.
These monitoring stations play a crucial role in ensuring the long-term sustainability of Gewan Island’s marine ecosystem and are an important step in enhancing UDC’s ability to take effective actions based on accurate data to ensure water sustainability at Gewan Island.
