United Development Company Reduces Master Community Service Charges for 2026 Across The Pearl and Gewan Islands
July 02, 2026 / Financial News
Doha, Qatar – 4 July 2026: United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl Island and Gewan Island, has announced a reduction in the Master Community Service Charges for 2026, reinforcing its commitment to delivering long-term value to owners and investors while maintaining the quality and efficiency of community operations across its flagship destinations.
Effective 2026, the monthly service charge billing rate will decrease from QAR 3.50/sqm to QAR 3.00/sqm, reflecting UDC’s ongoing efforts to optimize community operations, enhance budget efficiency, and sustain high service standards across The Pearl and Gewan Islands.
The revised rate will be reflected in the upcoming third quarter invoices with any applicable differences relating to previous billing periods within the year, automatically credited to owners’ accounts and deducted from outstanding invoice balances.
Commenting on the update, Mr. Yasser Salah Al-Jaidah, UDC President & CEO, said: “This reduction reflects UDC’s continued focus on delivering measurable value to our owners and investors, while ensuring that our communities remain efficiently managed and maintained to the highest standards. The Pearl and Gewan Islands continue to represent benchmark destinations for quality living and long-term investment, and we remain committed to initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, preserve community value, and strengthen the ownership experience across our developments.”
The adjustment follows a comprehensive review of operational efficiencies and budget optimization measures, enabling UDC to reduce the applicable rate while maintaining service standards across its communities.
As service charges support essential shared operations, including common area maintenance, landscaping, infrastructure upkeep, cleaning, security, and community management, this reduction reflects UDC’s balanced approach to enhancing cost efficiency for owners while preserving the long-term quality, value, and appeal of The Pearl and Gewan Islands as leading residential and investment destinations.
