UDC Concludes a Vibrant Season of Community and Lifestyle Activations Across The Pearl and Gewan Islands

May 31, 2026 / News

Eid Al-Adha celebrations and Torba Market attracted strong turnout offering a rich program for families and visitors

Doha – Qatar, 31 May 2026: United Development Company (UDC) recently concluded a vibrant series of seasonal activations and community experiences across its master developments at The Pearl Island and Gewan Island, further reinforcing the destinations’ positioning as integrated waterfront environments centered around lifestyle, hospitality, entertainment, and community engagement.
The recent Eid Al-Adha celebrations, together with the introduction of Torba Market to Qanat Quartier, reflected UDC’s broader approach toward creating experience-led destinations that extend beyond residential living to offer dynamic social and cultural environments for residents and visitors alike.
Across Porto Arabia, Crystal Walk, and Qanat Quartier, families and visitors enjoyed a diverse mix of live entertainment, children’s activities, outdoor experiences, dining, shopping, and community-focused programming within distinctive waterfront settings that continue to define the character of the islands.
The Eid Al-Adha celebrations brought together residents and visitors over five days through a variety of family-oriented activities and entertainment at 29 La Croisette in Porto Arabia and Crystal Walk on Gewan Island. The festive atmosphere was complemented by the islands’ scenic promenades, hospitality offerings, and more than 500 retail outlets, restaurants, cafés, and lifestyle concepts spread across both destinations.
Further enriching the seasonal program, UDC also introduced the popular “Torba Market” to Qanat Quartier, transforming the canal-front district into a lively pedestrian-friendly open-air destination during Saturdays in May and throughout the Eid Al-Adha weekend, celebrating local entrepreneurship, artisanal products, sustainability, and community interaction. Set against Qanat Quartier’s Venetian-inspired architecture and waterfront charm, the market offered visitors an immersive lifestyle experience while supporting farmers, artisans, home-based businesses, and local entrepreneurs.
These activations form part of UDC’s continued focus on destination marketing aimed at strengthening the islands’ appeal as year-round lifestyle and tourism destinations. Through curated programming, seasonal events, and public realm activation, UDC continues to foster meaningful connections between people, culture, entertainment, and place.
The strong turnout witnessed throughout the recent activations reflects the growing appeal of The Pearl and Gewan Islands as premier visit-and-dwell destinations within a vibrant and integrated urban environment.
Building on this momentum, UDC is now gearing up for a summer season centered around leisurely entertainment, waterfront experiences, and beach-focused activities designed to enhance the much-anticipated summer break in Doha.
